Overview

Stats for LinkedIn Jobs ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that shows crowdsourced statistics — self-reported by other extension users — about LinkedIn job postings, such as how many people applied, got interviews, or received offers, and whether a posting looks like a genuine listing. It is an independent, community-driven tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sourced from LinkedIn.

This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you sign in with Google to report your own status on a job posting or vote on whether a posting looks like a genuine listing, we receive:

• A stable, anonymous account identifier from Google (technically, the "sub" claim from your Google account). This is a random string tied to your Google account, not your name or email address. Signing in does not request or receive your name, email address, or any other profile information.
• The status you choose to report for a specific job (e.g. "Applied, no response yet") or your ghost-job vote.

Information collected automatically.

• Anonymous aggregate statistics: anyone using the extension, including signed-out users, can view aggregate counts (e.g. "12 people applied") for a job posting. These are public counts, not tied to any individual.
• Diagnostic information: if the extension is unable to display its button correctly on a LinkedIn page (for example, because LinkedIn has changed its page layout), we log the job ID and the fact that this happened, so we can fix it. This diagnostic log does not include your account identifier, page content, or any other personal information.
• Our hosting provider (Microsoft Azure) may automatically log standard technical information (such as IP address and request timestamps) as part of normal server operation, consistent with Microsoft's own privacy practices.

Information we do not collect. We do not collect or have access to your LinkedIn profile, your resume, your job applications beyond what you explicitly choose to report through the extension, your general browsing history, or your Google account password.

How we use information

• To show you your own previously-reported status for a job when you reopen the panel.
• To calculate and display aggregate, anonymous statistics for each job posting.
• To detect when the extension's LinkedIn integration breaks, so it can be fixed.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with any third party other than the service providers described below.

Third-party services

• Google — used solely to verify your identity when you choose to sign in. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Microsoft Azure — hosts the extension's backend and stores the data described above. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.

Data retention and deletion

Reported statuses and votes are retained indefinitely so that aggregate statistics remain accurate over time. If you would like your reported data deleted, contact us at rajeevkanth.m@gmail.com with your request, and we will remove it.

Your choices

• You can use the extension to view aggregate statistics without signing in.
• Signing in and reporting a status or vote is entirely optional.
• You can revoke the extension's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions page.
• You can uninstall the extension at any time via Chrome's extension management page.

Children's privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this same URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
